BTS Composite Self-Portrait & New Music Coming

I created this self-portrait to capture the deep adversity I’ve faced over the last five years. A series of crises, loses, and uncomfortable, slow personally transformative experiences (some bitter and crushing) have permeated my life.
The original plan was to release this image and then release my song “Lighthouse” which I wrote in spring of 2024 (and finally felt to record). But nothing has gone according to plant lately! A major family emergency, followed by vocal complications have prevented me from recording the music video for Lighthouse as planned (you have to be able to sing live when filming a music video so it doesn’t look like a lip sync).
So, it’s on to plan B–which I didn’t actually have until now.
I’ll be releasing a lyric video so that the song can move out into the world and be heard. Times are hard, many people are grieving and struggling and Lighthouse is a plea and a prayer, of sorts, for God to save from the darkness.
Lighthouse will release Sunday October 12th, 2025 at 4pm MST.
Now, for some photography BTS.
A couple of years ago I tried composite photography. The image on the left (below) was my result–missing some important elements. I stopped those attempts and focused on other things for a while. I picked it back up a few months ago and re-tried compositing. The image on the right is my second attempt and I really like it. But the image at the beginning of this post is the final product. The second image is a great image, but I wanted there to be more to the story–hence the very tall image that conveys descent and the loss of defenses and lurking dangers, etc.

Below is a composite of about 5 different photos I took of myself, spliced together to create the subject for this piece. I purchased the shark .png image as well as the chains and lock in the image above/left), and below you can see the other images I used to create this piece of artwork.

Stay tuned for more images and BTS!
