It's time for me to share a "REJECT" from the conc

It's time for me to share a "REJECT" from the conceptual self-portrait collection I'm working on. I won't share any background or explanation on this photo, as this image did not capture what I wanted to express with it, but it still an interesting image worth sharing, I think.

I'm finding I have to shoot many themes twice in order to really capture what I want to express. Because I am shooting on backgrounds in studio, I have to rely solely on costume, lighting, expression, props and Photoshop to convey my message, not environment. It's a challenge for sure, but quite therapeutic! I have another "reject" image that turned out rather "Halloween-y"--which is not what I was going for. I'll share that one in October.

I won't be ready to use it for a bit, but it's ready to go when I need it. I added the jewels and stones to coordinate more with the crown. The image I take in this may or may not make it into the collection Im working on, but it's sure fun planning and creating!

The State Fair gig is tomorrow evening! Catch us on the South Plaza Stage from 5pm-6pm for an hour of original music. These clips are from the Draper Farmer's Market last weekend. We had a blast! I'm slow to share as we've had illness and other health challenges at our house. BUT we're gonna have a great time tomorrow no matter what! Hope you can join us!

I am working on a conceptual self-portrait collect

I am working on a conceptual self-portrait collection that captures elements from my journey. These are clips from two of the images I've created so far. I am still fine tuning. All the images will likely find a place in my full-color book on creativity and resilience that I'm working on, but I'm also toying with another idea for sharing them more formally as well. I will share snippets as I go!
