Hi, there! I’m Jen, and I’m not one to wade in shallow waters, so I’ll get right to the point. One of the greatest challenges in my life has been learning to love and accept myself just as I am. . . and I can tell you– how you feel about yourself affects EVERYTHING!
Life is hard enough, but when you face it as a multipotentialite, Empath, HSP, INF, or a Highly Creative (I am all of these!) it can be a pretty bumpy, confusing, intense and painful ride.
Not familiar with these terms?
In short, Empaths experience their emotions on a hightenened level while also experiencing the energies and emotions of those around them as if they were their own. HSP’s have a heightened nervous system so lights, noise, crowds, smells, etc. can be exhausting and even overwhelming to them. INF personality types are intuitive and pick up on subtle cues, they are also highly complex, even paradoxical in nature with deep inner lives requiring lots of time alone to recharge. Multipotentialites are people with multiples passions and struggle to niche themselves, while highly creative people are also tuned into emotion and subtleties and able to express depth in many forms.
The traits of many of these types aren’t typically valued by the masses and lots of rejection, harsh words and judgments follow, which can really affect a sense of self-worth. It has been hard for me, being these things, to want to be in my body, to see my worth, and to value what I bring to the table.
But I’ve learned that having these traits means that I’m qualified to talk about self-acceptance and self-worth from a unique perspective. Having felt the darkest depths of self-loathing and come out of that into a life I love, I seek to share hope with others that change and self-love is possible.
There are some things we can do to nurture, strengthen and protect ourselves when we’re struggling with self-acceptance. Three areas of focus that I’ve personally immersed myself in throughout my life are self-care, creativity, and personal growth.
I went through about 25 years of some pretty rough stuff, but it wasn’t until things got extra dark that I stopped being creative, taking care of myself and pursuing personal growth. As a result, I went lower than I ever thought possible. I learned, coming out of that, how vital these things are to health and happiness.
My traits as an Empath, HSP, and Intuitive-Feeler personality type have taught me the absolute necessity of self-care. My gifts as a highly-creative woman have schooled me in the importance of self-expression, and my analytical nature and unquenchable thirst for knowledge have helped me explore and progress on the path of personal growth.
Because empaths, NFs, sensitives, and creatives feel emotion on a magnified level, I’ve had to grapple in a unique way through the healing of betrayal trauma, various forms of abuse, loss of self-worth, health issues, divorce, remarriage, and blending a family of six kids!
I created this site to inspire and validate women who may be struggling with loving and accepting themselves for whatever reason. I also wanted a place I could share my creative endeavors and thoughts on things that matter to me. I hope you find something helpful here.
I believe fulfillment and happiness come as we accept who we are, feel our worth, and embrace it all. As we do this we can then bless the world with our unique offering.
