hello! i’m jen
singer & songwriter
Hi, there! I’m Jen. I grew up in Northern California, but my granddaddy grew up in Tennessee writing songs, playing guitar, and singing country music with his band. My Aunt, on the other side of the family, sang in Hollywood and her husband (my uncle) played piano for some of the top bands of the day, so I guess you could say music is in my blood. . .
My earliest memory with music is singing my own melodies and words into a little hand-held tape player in the hallway of our home, but to my mom’s dismay, my older brother later recorded over those priceless creations with Michael Jackson’s hit “Beat it”. However, I’m not so sure how priceless they’d actually sound to any ear but a mother’s!
I didn’t actually start writing music until I was about 15, and from then on it would become a lifeline for me. I went through several decades of some pretty tough stuff and music helped me cope.

I love how a song can say what the heart so often can’t put into words. It’s such a fulfilling process to translate emotion and experiences and put them to music. It’s a huge part of who I am.
I’m a firm believer in living from the heart. It drives all of my creative pursuits. I hope you find something here that brings you hope, makes you feel, or brightens your spirit. Thanks for stopping by!
