Portrait by Artist Lynde Mott

I recently had the very cool opportunity to pose with my son for a portrait by my good friend and artist Lynde Mott.  When Lynde stopped by my home and asked me if my son could pose as young Jesus, I thought it would be awesome, but then she asked me to pose as his mother Mary.  To be honest, I was a little shocked.  I’ve never seen myself as a model for anything, but I agreed nonetheless.  I mean, who wouldn’t want to be in a Lynde Mott portrait?

Lynde was kind enough to share images along the path of creation.  I’m sharing those with you today.  From the dress up in authentic clothing/reference snapshot, to the stages of painting, and the framed, finished portrait.  This piece will be on display at the The Religious and Spiritual Art of Utah show in Springville, Utah throughout the holidays.
